今西家住宅(Imanishike Jutaku:Imanishi family residence)

Cultural heritage

The first of the oldest people who protected the west of Imai-cho.

The Imanishi family is a descendant of the ancient family brother Isojo, and is a well-known family who served as the leader of the Sodoshiyō in Imai-cho.

During the Warring States period, when he fought with Nobunaga Oda in connection with Ikko-shu, he was recognized for his achievements in protecting the town of Imai until the end, and was given autonomy by Nobunaga.

In addition, Imaichō was protected unharmed during the summer camp in Osaka, and Tadaaki Matsudaira gave the name “Imanishi” as “the house that protected the west of Imai.”

Since he played the role of a court, there is a white island that was judged inside the building, and you can still see the remnants of it.

The owner’s room, called “Nando,” was built four steps higher than the dirt floor, and even his wife couldn’t enter without permission.

The threshold “book stand stance” in front of what is said to be the oldest in Japan.
