Shinsekai, a downtown area that surrounds Tsutenkaku.
The beginning of the New World dates back to 1903, the 5th National Industrial Exhibition held at Tennoji and the present New World.
Tennoji Park was built in the eastern half of the site, and Tsutenkaku (the first generation) was built as a symbol in the center of the remaining western half, and Luna Park, a toll amusement park, was built in the south.
With this as an opportunity, playhouses and movie theaters will gather and develop, and a new world will be formed.
Currently, both Luna Park and the movie theater are closed, but the observation deck of Tsutenkaku is crowded with tourists from afar, and at the underground Tsutenkaku Theater directly below, diva who are active in each region sing enka every Monday. However, at the Tsutenkaku Theater TENGEKI, the audience is entertained every Saturday and Sunday with comics and Kamigata rakugo.
“Janjan Yokocho”, where about 50 shops such as Osaka’s famous Kushikatsu shop, Doteyaki shop, and Go Shogi club are lined up between north and south 130m, is also energetic.
On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it is recommended that a large number of tourists visit and enjoy taking a commemorative photo with the god of happiness “Billiken-san” and the signboard of the blowfish lantern in the background, and stroking the soles of the feet that are beneficial. ..
If you look up at Tsutenkaku from Shinsekai, you can see the scenery that you have seen in guidebooks such as “Korezo Osaka”, so let’s look up while enjoying walking around the city.
I introduced it briefly, but when you actually come to the site, you can experience the history and tradition more concretely with the locals.
