Izumi Shimizu in the precincts is the origin of the place name Izumi.
Although it is not certain when it was founded, it is an old shrine with good reports that Emperor Jimmu prayed for the fulfillment of the Tosei.
In the second year of Emperor Chuai (200), when Empress Jingu visited this area, Shimizu suddenly sprang up.
It is said that the Empress was pleased with this and worshiped it as a spiritual spring, so this place came to be called “Izumi”.
It is also said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi carried this Izumi Shimizu water to Osaka Castle and used it for the tea ceremony.
In the 2nd year of Reiki (716), when Izumi-gen was placed and this area became the center of local politics, Izumi Gosha (Gosha Daimeijin: Otori / Izumi) was beside Izumi Inoue Shrine. The Izumi Kokuso Shrine was built to enshrine Anashi / Sei / Tsugawa / Hine.
To the north of the main shrine of Izumiinoue Shrine, the shrine of the five shrines rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyori in 1605 remains and is designated as an important cultural property of the country.
I introduced it briefly, but when you actually come to the site, you can experience the history and tradition more concretely with the locals.
