The Kishiwada Danjiri Festival, the flower of the Senshu Autumn Festival, which is known all over the country, started in the middle of the Edo period and boasts a tradition of 300 years.
Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan is a facility where you can witness the long history and power of such a festival.
At the event plaza in the hall, the heat and power of the festival is realistically reproduced with real danjiri and 27 multi-screen images.
The danjiri of the former Kamiyacho, which was produced in 1841 and was actually towed in the town from the end of the Edo period to Heisei, is also on display.
It reproduces the old townscape of Kishu Kaido.
A corner that introduces the origin of danjiri in an easy-to-understand manner and an experience corner where you can experience the mood of a carpenter who is the flower of the festival.
There are lots of attractions such as a corner where you can see the mechanism of the festival, decorations of danjiri, musical instruments used in danjiri bayashi up close, and a technique and crafts museum that explains the techniques of danjiri carpenters and sculptors.
In addition to the oldest real danjiri in Kishiwada, matoi, happi coats, and ancient documents, you can also experience riding the large roof of the danjiri and playing drums and other sounds in the experience corner.
I introduced it briefly, but when you actually come to the site, you can experience the history and tradition more concretely with the locals.
