A 15-minute walk from “Tadaoka Station” on the Nankai Main Line, the collection and exhibition of oriental art, mainly ink paintings, collected by Mr. Takayuki Masaki, an unsealed house in Tadaoka, over the years.
There are 1,300 paintings, including 3 national treasures and 13 important cultural properties, and most of the 300 paintings are ink paintings from the Kamakura and Muromachi periods, which are valuable to the history of medieval painting in Japan.
Both the main building and the new building are designed by Mr. Masaki himself, and are surrounded by a quiet atmosphere suitable for viewing ink painting.
There are two exhibitions, a spring exhibition and an autumn exhibition every year.
Focusing on the remains of Zen Buddhism culture such as ink painting and sumi-e, the theme exhibition is devised every time by combining with crafts, sculptures, and tea utensils that harmonize with it.
I introduced it briefly, but when you actually come to the site, you can experience the history and tradition more concretely with the locals.
