A museum that collects and exhibits contemporary art, which was reopened in Nakanoshima in the fall of 2004.
Originally, the World’s Fair Museum, which was built when the 1970 World’s Fair was held, was used to collect, store, and display works from Japan and abroad for over 30 years. Was done.
In the new museum, which is completely underground on the 3rd floor (partly 1st floor above ground), except for some works by some artists (Cesanne, Picasso, Ernst, Tsuguharu Fujita, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, etc.), contemporary art works after the war. Is stored in large numbers.
We hold various exhibitions every month, and hold lectures, symposiums, gallery talks, etc. at all times.
The exterior of the building was designed with the image of the vitality of bamboo and the development and growth of contemporary art.
Designed by Argentine-born Caesar Pelli, who worked on “World Financial Center and Winter Garden” in Battery Park, Manhattan.
The first basement floor is a free space with free admission and is crowded with many people.
If you are interested in art, you can’t miss the National Museum of Art, Osaka.
I introduced it briefly, but when you actually come to the site, you can experience the history and tradition more concretely with the locals.
