A thrilling skyscraper
The Umeda Sky Building is characterized by its appearance reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in France.
“Umeda Sky Building” is the core facility of “Shin Umeda City”, the new city center of Umeda, Osaka, and one of the landmarks of Umeda.
Completed in 1993, two 40-story buildings above the ground are connected at the top, and in addition to the 39th-floor aerial restaurant and the 40th-floor observation gallery, the rooftop part can overlook the cityscape of Osaka while being blown by the wind 170m above the ground. There is an “Aerial Garden Observatory”.
The outdoor observatory called Skywalk on the roof is donut-shaped, and you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Osaka.
When visiting as a couple, it is standard to attach a heart-shaped padlock “Heart Lock” with the name and date engraved on the “Oath Fence”.
The inside of the building has offices, stores, showrooms, event halls, movie theaters, and the basement has a retro-style dining area “Takimikoji”.
There is a walking course called “The Island Garden” on the south side of the building site and “Hanano” on the north side, where you can experience the nature of the four seasons, and many citizens visit it.
In addition, the central square is crowded with occasional international events.
