Tonteki has become famous nationwide as a local gourmet in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture.
In １９５５ (Showa ３０’s), about １０ years after the war, around the time of the Isewan Typhoon, the world started with Tonki in Motomachi, and the world is in a period of high growth such as the Tokyo Olympics and the opening of the Tokaido Shinkansen.
In an era when baby boomers could work and work, “Tonki” was popular as a delicious stamina dish.
At that time, I heard that it was a habit of people at that time to say, “Would you like to go eat tonteki when you get paid?” (I think it was a very expensive food at that time).
It was born from the development of a steak made by cutting thick slices of high-quality pork into gloves and grilling them with large garlic and a secret sauce.
Simply named “Tonki” for pork steak.
You can enjoy it very deliciously by entwining a heap of cabbage and meat sauce.
Since its establishment in １９７８, we have been sticking to the original taste without changing the ingredients and seasoning.
